Dun Gotta Gun Hummer Displayed and NRHA Futurity

For its tenth anniversary, the National Reining Breeders Classic will be bigger and better than ever and one example is the electric blue Hummer Golf Cart that was on display in the NRBC Booth at the NRHA Futurity.

Sponsored by Jerry Kimmel/Dun Gotta Gun, the distinctive cart will be given to an Open Classic entry after a drawing at the conclusion of the event. “Every Open Entry is eligible,” noted NRBC Secretary/Treasurer Cheryl Magoteaux.

Traffic by the NRBC Booth near the coliseum outgate at the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds was steady – even early in the futurity. “Everyone just stopped and stares at it,” Magoteaux continued.

Much good news is in store for the NRBC in 2007 – as it will pay $75,000 to the Open Champion at the show, slated for April 16-22 at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center in Katy, Texas.

That’s a 25% increase from the $60,000 that the event has paid in recent years, and a huge step for the Officers and Board of the NRBC.

The NRBC Board also increased the number of horses qualifying for the Open Finals from 25 to 30, and the number qualifying in the Non Pro finals to 25 and raised the payout for last place in the Open Finals from $2,000 to $5,000.

The National Reining Breeders Classic is the most successful stallion incentive program in reining history. In just nine years, the NRBC has grown to include over 300 subscribed stallions and over 17,000 enrolled foals.
